IP watcher / firewalls

Many times I have noticed that IP watcher does not appear to update the external IP address.
I have it set to check IP every 15 minutes.
Even if I close IPwatcher then restart it, it does not pick up new IP.

If I reboot computer, it then grabs the correct IP.
Are there any ports I must open in my router/firewall ?

I'm using XP pro, windows firewall off, Dlink DIR615 router

It sounds like you need to download the newer version of IP Watcher. The older versions of IP Watcher no longer function correctly as the technology has gone out of date.

I am running latest version - 3.0.0.30

Issue sounds similar to problem # 1 viewtopic.php?f=13&t=133

Updating of IP is sporatic. Even if I exit program and restart. Once it doesn't update I have to reboot computer.

The latest version of IP Watcher (3.x) will check every 30 minutes for a public ip change. If the Public Ip address has changed then it will send an email or text message, depending on your settings. Are you somehow changing your public ip address manually?
